Recklessly Loved

Check out this new song by John Mark McMillan (an incredibly deep and powerful songwriter who also wrote one of my favorite worship songs, "How He Loves Us") called "Skeleton Bones".  It comes straight out of Ezekiel 37:1-14.  I love the lyric "We just want to love you, we just want to love you, yeah".  It reminds me of the simplicity of following Christ, which is to accept that you're totally and completely loved through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and to love our life transforming, totally good, and completely faithful Savior and God back with all that have and all that we are.  As you listen, think about these questions:  Is loving God my sole, all-consuming desire?  In what areas of my life do I need the fresh, life-giving breath of the Holy Spirit to blow into? and am I living my life in such a way that every breath I breathe brings love to the Father?

I mEan I would have to agree with you that that line is so simple, but it is supposed to be simple! All we have to do is love and then everything else will come natural to us. Gods love isn't complex he just tells us to love him and love eachother as we would love him!!

I like that this song doesn't sound like any other Christian song I've heard.

"We want your blood to flow inside our body, and we want your wind inside our lungs. We just want to love you. We just want to love you, yeah."
I love that part.

I know, the song just hits me right in the heart with the lyrics. I love songs that have such incredible lyrics, are soooo creative, and are different, even if they're not directed toward God. But the fact that this one is makes it that much better! I wish we had more songwriters like him, or Jesus Culture, or Hillsong United, or Derek Webb or Shane and Shane. Although that is a good start!!!

Here's a great line from a movie..."I only asked you to do one simple thing, kill Superman"

Some things are a lot easier said than done...love may be more like that than anything else in the world.

I cannot understand His love, often I don't even feel it. But it is awesome that I don't have to do either. It helps me to remember that God is not a bigger version of us. He is not even a MUCH BIGGER VERSION of us...He is completely Other than us and so is His love. He is inviting us to day-by-day, one-stumble-after-another, learn to walk in that love.

That is not just an adventure, it is THE adventure. Everything else is boring without it.

Morgan, finally jumping in the mix. You might just make your own blog post here with awesome comments like that! I love that He is not just a bigger version of us, but that He is something wholly/HOLY different and set apart, and yet, right here and available (which is why He's so different and set apart!).

Good love makes you see the whole world from one person while bad love makes you abandon the whole world for one person.
